Alluster Storage Guide to Summer in Vancouver

It’s officially summer in Vancouver, and there’s no denying that our city has come to life. The problem is not finding something to do, it’s choosing what to do. With several events including live performances, sporting events, and night markets happening all summer long, we can guarantee you’ll never get bored this summer. Here are some must-see events you won’t want to miss throughout July and August.

Stanley Park

Stanley Park is a go-to summer spot. From beautiful beaches and seawall strolls to outdoor performances and movies, there’s always something to keep you entertained. This year, Theatre Under the Stars is back at the Malkin Bowl. Mary Poppins and The Drowsy Chaperone are playing on alternating nights. On Tuesday evenings, the Evo Summer Cinema Series is back at Ceperly meadows. If you have lawn chairs in storage, give us a call and we’ll drop them off to ensure you get a good view! Sit back and relax, enjoy entertainment, or take in the views; the choice is yours at Stanley Park.

Bard on the Beach

You don’t have to be a Shakespeare fan to appreciate Bard on the Beach. Every year, Vanier Park hosts Western Canada’s largest Shakesperean festival at its waterfront setting. This summer, the festival features Much Ado About Nothing, The Winter’s Tale, The Merchant of Venice, The Two Gentlemen of Verona, and Shylock. In addition to the classic plays, special events such as family night, “Bard-BQ” and fireworks, and Wine Wednesdays ensure that there is something for everyone. Running from June until September 23rd, tickets start at $21 and are available over the phone at 604-739-0559. Click here to see this season’s schedule!

Vancouver Canadians

Baseball season is in full swing! With several home games all summer long, there are plenty of opportunities to cheer on the Vancouver Canadians in a beautiful open-air setting. Inexpensive and entertaining, minor league baseball games are a great way to spend an afternoon or evening. Click here for the schedule.

Night Markets

From Richmond to the North Shore, the Greater Vancouver area is home to some of the largest night markets in North America. On weekend and holiday evenings, make your way to the Richmond Night Market, the Illumination Summer Night Market, or the Shipyards Night Market. Each host several vendors selling diverse foods, locally made products, and handcrafted goods. We promise you won’t leave empty handed or hungry!
